ABOUT ME

Closet Singer, Wanna-be Surfer, Curious World Travel, Harley Rider, Cat-Herder, Army Wife,  Mom.

People have sung “Hey Jude” to me my entire life and you’d think I’d be sick of it by now, but I’m not ~ music & laughter are wonderful ways to connect!

I approach life with a natural curiosity and a strong appreciation for cultural considerations. Having lived all over the world & moved 17 times, I know life can be tricky to navigate. I have worked in maximum security prisons system, with military families, first responders, trauma victims, government officials, celebrities, high-net worth executives, moms, dads, college students, young entrepreneurs, women, men ~ people nationwide just trying to find their footing & place in this world. The one universal truth regardless of who you are or what you do~ we all have storms.

My number one priority is to walk with you through your storm, watch the clouds clear, and experience the warmth and light of the sun again. I want to challenge you to adjust your lens, generate new possibilities, create opportunities, and break through barriers. I commit to walk with you and help you to find ways to face life’s challenges, discover your inner strength, renew your courage, and begin a new journey towards healing, resiliency, and new possibilities.

My loves are my husband of 26 years, a COL in the US Army and my three Man-Boys. If I'm near an ocean~ I love to long board & dig my toes in the sand. Regardless of where we are or what we do, I truly believe we all have the ability to matter. We just have to choose how. I welcome the opportunity to co-pilot.

Drawing from multicultural considerations, Dr. Black has a demonstrated track record of success both domestic and internationally as a clinician, businesswoman, and public speaker. She is the former Director of Relationships for the online counseling platform featured on ABC's Shark Tank,  In Your Corner (Pretty Padded Room), and current owner of E-Therapy Cafe, a premier online counseling company.  Dr. Black has been featured in Elle Magazine, MTVNews, Modern Loss, Refinery 29, and Military Times. She can often be found supporting the troops and speaking at the Pentagon about the topic of Toxic Leadership.

Dr. Black is a member of several professional organizations to include the American Counseling Association, National Board for Certified Counselors, and Association for Counselors and Educators in Government.  Jude has worked both nationwide and internationally in the mental health field for 20+ years.  Her work spans over private, non-profit, and government sectors, including family support programs, community support programs, outpatient services, residential mental health facilities, hospitals, intensive outpatient programs, residential and substance abuse programs, partial hospitalization programs, and private practice, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is an avid provider with ATRC donating pro-bono sessions for our Nation's heroes, our 1st responders and law enforcement personnel.

Compassion and commitment is what automatically comes to mind when thinking about Jude. I was hesitant to try on-line therapy, but the experience has been overwhelmingly a good one. She is very flexible when it comes to scheduling and quick to get back with supportive advice using the on-line journal. During sessions I find her presence calming and reassuring. Her non-judgmental attitude makes it easy to open up with even the most painful of memories. Therapy is not a chore that I thought it would be, but rather a tool I have come to appreciate that is promoting my personal growth. Jude is the one that made that possible. I highly recommend her.
